Avengers: Doomsday marketing is in full swing. Since the initial four teasers, released alongside Avatar: Fire and Ash, the promotional campaign for the upcoming Avengers movie has been a slow drip. With a little over a month until Avengers: Doomsday‘s release, Marvel Studios is pulling out all the stops, including tie-ins with Jack in the Box and Dunkin’, plus new footage shown in Game 1 of the 2026 World Series.
While Marvel Studios originally withheld Doctor Doom until the first full trailer for Avengers: Doomsday in July 2026, the villain is now front and center in the marketing. Despite Doctor Doom being Marvel Comics’ most famous villain, his previous film appearances have largely been disappointing. With no build-up to Doctor Doom beyond a brief tease at the end of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures are making sure audiences know him before the movie’s release.
A series of new posters for Avengers: Doomsday have been unveiled, all centered around Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. One is the film’s official new poster, while the other five highlight the premium formats the movie will play in, including ScreenX, Real-D 3D, 4DX, Dolby, and Infinity Vision. The ScreenX poster features Doctor Doom and his three Latverian Witches, while the Infinity Vision showcases Doctor Doom with Sentinels. See all six posters below:
Since the Latverian Witches were unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, speculation has run wild about who could be under the masks. Theories have ranged from Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch to Charlize Theron’s Clea being under the masks as Doom’s accomplices. These could be original characters for the film, potentially one of the roles Sandra Hüller was confirmed to play.
Doctor Doom will be arriving in Avengers: Doomsday with plenty of firepower. Along with the Latverian Witches, the trailers have already confirmed Doom will command a group of mutant-hunting Sentinels. An added post-credit scene of Avengers: Endgame — Encore showed Doctor Doom abducted Bruce Banner, potentially to use the Hulk against The Avengers. With Avengers: Doomsday so secretive, the film will likely reveal other characters aligned with Doctor Doom only at release.

Question 1 of 3
Although the announcement of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom drew a mixed audience response in July 2024, excitement has grown as Avengers: Doomsday‘s release nears. The film has already broken advance ticket sales records and is shaping up to be one of the year’s biggest movies, if not the biggest. It certainly looks like Doctor Doom, armed with his own army of witches and Sentinels, will live up to Thanos as an Avengers-level threat.
