Avengers: Doomsday looms on the horizon, promising an epic assembly of heroes when it hits theaters on December 18, 2026. The next outing brings together superheroes from across the MCU, like Captain America and Thor, while featuring many faces from Fox’s X-Men universe, including Ian McKellen as Magneto and the late Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier. Avengers: Doomsday will be the first time The Fantastic Four join a massive MCU team-up after making their debut in 2025’s First Steps.
Marvel’s first family appears to have an integral role in the film, as Doctor Doom was teased in a post-credit scene with Franklin Richards. Marketing materials for Avengers: Doomsday also highlight a past between The Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom, underscoring the team’s influence and knowledge of what may be playing out. The lead-up to the release of Doomsday has also included merchandising opportunities, such as some impressive LEGO sets depicting action and locations from the movie.
One prominent location in Avengers: Doomsday is Avengers Tower. LEGO has made Avengers Tower sets before, including set 76269, a $500, 5201-piece version that is still available. However, the brick company has added a new set for the Doomsday release that updates the famous tower. Their latest, Avengers: Doomsday New Avengers Tower (76352), has 954 pieces and a design that matches the film’s story, including minifigures for Doctor Doom, Yelena, Red Guardian, and Sentry, among others. The set retails in the U.S. for $109.99.
LEGO Marvel sets have a dedicated following on Reddit, including MOC (My Own Creation) builders. Designer MESsemble shared their inspired repurposing of the Avengers: Doomsday Tower set, using the bricks to give The Fantastic Four the Baxter Building they always deserved. Just as Avengers Tower is a base of operations for the superhero team, the Baxter Building serves a similar role, doubling as their home.
MESsemble noted the overabundance of Avengers Tower sets and the lack of a Baxter Building, writing:
“I felt like they deserved the headquarters more than the new Avengers. We’ve also gotten a lot of Avengers Towers already, and felt the Baxter Building was needed in the mini modular city.”
MESsemble shared their MOC on Rebrickable, where you can purchase PDF plans for the build for $3.99. That brings the total investment to just under $114, though you’ll just need to source The Fantastic Four minifigures elsewhere. The designer expertly shifts the set into a small version of the Baxter Building, including interiors and a version of Galactus for them to fight. The Reddit post highlights how the build fits into a modular cityscape, blending in next to Spider-Man’s Daily Bugle.
The designer clearly loves superhero builds, with several other Marvel-inspired MOCs on their Rebrickable page, including a mini-modular version of Avengers Tower pictured with their Baxter Building MOC. Given the enthusiasm for other Marvel modular sets, like Doctor Strange’s Sanctum, LEGO could benefit from an official Baxter Building set. Only time will tell whether LEGO releases its own take on Fantastic Four’s headquarters, but dedicated builders can pick up the materials to make their own.
