Denis Villeneuve is on his way to completing an epic trilogy of movies with the release of Dune: Part Three just before the end of 2026, delivering the end of the story first written by Frank Herbert. This movie will bring the most intense storyline yet in this trilogy, as Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides becomes a ruthless emperor and wages a devastating holy war across the universe. It will also make for this year’s biggest movie event, as it debuts on the same day as Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday.
This story first kicked off with Dune in 2021, followed by Dune: Part Two in 2024, unveiling the world of Arrakis and the politics and drama from House Atreides. From here, Paul and his family must survive in the desert with the help of the Fremen before the second movie explores a prophecy about Paul’s rise to power and a war on the horizon. Now, as Villeneuve prepares to share the end of his vision for this epic story, the first two chapters will come back into the spotlight soon.
The official social media pages for Dune announced that the first two movies will be re-released in theaters before Dune: Part Three‘s release. The account shared five new posters centered on Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides and Zendaya’s Chani, highlighting some of their most memorable moments from 2021’s Dune and 2024’s Dune: Part Two. The two movies will be re-released in IMAX theaters between Nov. 13 and Nov. 20, 2026, and tickets go on sale on Friday, Oct. 30, 2026.

More to come…
