Featuring music legends including Billy Idol, The Police, DEVO, Duran Duran, Oingo Boingo, and more, this MGM+ 4-part doc series charts how New Wave transformed the musical landscape and brought alternative culture into the mainstream. Telling the fascinating story of New Wave music and the decade starting from 1977 to 1987 that brought alternative culture fully into the mainstream. Made by This Machine Filmworks, New Wave takes viewers on a journey from the genre’s rebellious beginnings to its lasting influence on music, fashion and pop culture. Through the voices of the artists who helped shape the movement, the doc series examines how a decade of creative experimentation challenged conventions ended up going on to change pop music forever.
